Accessibility Audit & Web Analysis
Objective
In response to the upcoming legal changes effective June 28, 2025, and with the goal of making their website more accessible to all users, freelance.de Services GmbH decided to carry out a digital accessibility audit with us.
The initial objective was to evaluate compliance with WCAG A and AA standards. In a second step, the necessary changes were to be implemented accordingly. Beyond meeting compliance requirements, the aim was also to enhance the overall usability of the website for all users.

Initial Website Situation
Our first step was to conduct an independent audit and evaluate the website against various WCAG accessibility standards.
Since the site had already implemented some key criteria, we focused on the more complex requirements — while also aiming to improve overall usability.
In our experience, most websites already meet 50–60% of the required criteria, but which specific standards are met can vary greatly.
This is why every website must be reviewed individually to ensure proper optimization for digital accessibility.
A valuable side effect of this process is often a more structured and user-friendly website.
Implementation of Changes
Following the individual audit, we implemented the required changes based on priority levels — starting with WCAG A standards, followed by AA standards.
In a subsequent step, we also addressed AAA standards, although only A and AA compliance is legally required under the upcoming regulations.
Overall, it's worthwhile to start implementing these changes early, as this process often reveals additional minor issues and leads to a more accessible and user-friendly website.
